Whether you’re buying a knife for yourself or gifting one to celebrate a special occasion, every Macrum knife can be personalized with custom engraving.
Add meaningful detail to make a knife uniquely yours, or make it easy to tell whose is whose in a busy kitchen.
To ensure maximum legibility, up to three characters can be engraved on each knife. You can use alphabetical letters and the “+” symbol, which counts toward the three-character limit. Numbers and other symbols are not currently available.
All engravings are placed on the handle tab on the reverse side of the knife. This is the side of the knife where “Macrum” is engraved on the blade.
All engravings use Trade Gothic font and are filled with a black resin to create a crisp contrast against the Corian.
Macrum knives purchased directly from Acre Knife: Engraving is complimentary. Simply select “Add Engraving” on the product page before adding your knife to the cart.
Macrum knives purchased from an Acre Knife distributor: Engraving is available for a $15 flat fee. Customers are responsible for shipping and handling in both directions.
Pre-owned white-tabbed Macrum knives: We can engrave pre-owned white-tabbed Macrum knives as well. If you have the original receipt verifying that the knife was purchased directly from Acre Knife, we’ll waive the engraving fee. Otherwise, the $15 engraving fee and applicable shipping costs apply.
When purchasing a Macrum directly from Acre Knife, select “Add Engraving” on the product page and enter the characters you’d like engraved before adding the knife to your cart.
You can also purchase a Macrum in person at the forge. If you’d like to choose your knife in person, schedule an appointment to visit us here.
Yes. We can engrave pre-owned white-tabbed Macrum knives, including knives purchased from one of our distributors.
Please get in touch using the form below. We’ll acknowledge your request within one business day and let you know whether we need any additional information. We’ll then provide instructions for shipping your knife to us or help arrange a drop-off appointment at the forge.
Please allow five business days from order placement to shipment.
The engraving process includes machining, coloring, and a curing period for the black resin. After the curing period, your knife will be sharpened and prepared for shipment.
If you’re purchasing a Macrum at the forge, you may be able to watch the engraving process. Each knife takes approximately five minutes to engrave. Let us know when you book your appointment if you’d like to view the process. We’ll do our best to accommodate you.
Absolutely. If you’d prefer to pick up your finished knife at the forge rather than have it shipped, just let us know. An appointment is required for pickup.
To reduce unnecessary shipping and transportation, any non-engraved knives purchased alongside an engraved Macrum will ship together with the engraved knife.
If you’re sending us a knife for engraving, you can use its original box or carefully wrap the blade in butcher paper, bubble wrap, folded cardboard, or a towel. If you don’t have a saya or blade guard, take extra care to protect the tip.
Secure the wrapping with tape or rubber bands, then place the knife in a sturdy cardboard box with plenty of padding to protect it during transit.
We recommend insuring your package and requesting tracking information from your carrier. Please send us the tracking number along with the expected delivery date and time.
Acre is not responsible for knives lost or damaged while being shipped to or from the forge.
We reserve the right to decline engraving requests. We do not accept offensive language or bulk engraving orders intended for resale.
If you’re unsure whether your requested engraving will be accepted, feel free to contact us before placing your order. If a request is declined and you believe it was rejected in error, please reach out. We may ask for additional information before approving the engraving.
