Let’s Go

Custom

Start with a knife you love. Make it your own.

Each of our talented bladesmiths has a Signature line, made from start to finish at our forge in Portland, Oregon. Because every knife is made by hand, there’s room to make certain details your own, from handle materials and liner color to select blade modifications.

The Process

GET IN TOUCH

Tell us what you’re imagining. Share your starting knife, ideas, inspiration, and any additional details you’d like to include. We’ll review your request and set up a 30-minute conversation, either virtually or at the forge, to talk through possibilities.

PRICING & TIMELINE

After our conversation, we’ll determine what’s possible, then provide pricing and an estimated completion timeline based on your project and the bladesmith’s current schedule.

WORK BEGINS

Once you’ve approved the project and submitted your deposit, your bladesmith will begin gathering materials and developing the knife patterns around your requests.

REVIEW & CONFIRM

We’ll share the completed design with you and confirm the final material selections. Depending on your project, we’ll either meet virtually or invite you to the forge to review the details together.

PICK UP OR SHIP

Once your knife is complete, we’ll let you know it’s ready. You can pick it up at the forge or have it shipped to you. For shipped orders, the remaining balance is due before shipment. Once payment is complete, we’ll send your tracking information and your knife will be on its way.

Frequently asked questions

Each of our Signature knives can be customized to varying degrees, depending on the bladesmith and the knife you choose as your starting point.

Macrum knives are available for engraving, but are not available for additional customization.

Pricing is based on the materials selected and the labor required for your particular project.

Once we’ve talked through the details and agreed on the scope of the work, we’ll provide your final price.

A 50% deposit is required before work begins, with the remaining balance due when your knife is complete.

Every custom project follows the bladesmith’s current production schedule, so turnaround time may vary.

If you need your knife by a specific date, please let us know when you get in touch. We’ll confirm whether we can accommodate your timeline before moving forward.

As involved as you’d like to be. We’ll work with you throughout the process to make sure the details are right, from the initial ideas and material selections through to the finished knife.

We’ll keep you updated along the way and make sure you have an opportunity to review the design before we move into final production. This way, you get the knife you envisioned.
